RESEARCH TOPIC DESCRIPTION<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u00a0In this project, a multidisciplinary effort is set on the study of pi-conjugation in organic and metal-organic materials on surfaces, targeting to achieve physico-chemical properties that go beyond conventional metals and insulators. Accordingly, we plan to synthesize and rationalize the expression of magnetic or complex phases of matter in 1D and 2D organic and metal-organic materials on surfaces.<\/p>\n

POSITION DESCRIPTION<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The project would be expected to centre on simulations and co-rationalization of the results from experiments obtained from a multidisciplinary approach towards the understanding of pi-conjugated organic nanomaterials on surfaces. Such experimental challenges include a variety of state-of-the-art techniques including scanning probe microscopies, ARPES\/Spin-ARPES, and synchrotron radiation.<\/p>\n

The researcher will take part in the discussion of the experiments, analysis of data and dissemination of results. A virtuous and continuous feed-back with the experimental members of team is expected. A typical fellow\u2019s profile would be a background in density functional theory and simulations of images obtained by scanning probe techniques. Including knowledge in tight-binding\/Hubbard modelling and topological band theory simulations.<\/p>\n
